I know that this is days late after the fact, but the delay itself may be used as a funnel for those I have to speak with. If anyone remembers a dream last week that involves myself and some matters then please comment here.

I'd like to request something of you with regards to that subject.

I'm afraid the matters the last Commandant left the Empire with require much attention. It... it would simply be unfair to undertake something else while that is being sorted out.

And by "undertake something else," you mean "cheat on work with my second-in-command."

Doing what I can for the Empire and its people makes me happy too. I don't think I'm sacrificing anything by putting work first.

There is such a thing as balance, you know.

I'm afraid I don't think either of us would be able to ignore the problems the Empire faces. Best to deal with them now than later.

What if it never ends? What if there's always something to be done?

It would be unrealistic to settle down after everything is worked out within the Empire, but I would at least prefer it if things are more stable. At the moment there is great unrest and instability within the Empire because a number of things including the former Commandants betrayal.
