Yuri Lowell will be sentenced today for murder and assault. The punishment will be a hundred lashes: ten lashes for each victim killed and assaulted during the duration of his rampage. This sentence will be carried out today at Xanadu, at two o'clock.

Justice will be served.

There is no justice in harming others.

Yuri needs this.

Why?

Because it's the right thing.

Punishing an individual for all to observe is the right thing?

It's a punishment.

This is how it is in your world?

If he had committed these crimes in our world, he'd have had to pay for it with his life.

Even so, it had not been his fault. There must be another way for justice to prevail.

If we were to let Yuri go without a punishment like this, Yuri himself wouldn't be able to accept it. There's no justice in being able to walk away freely after hurting that many innocent people.

The ones truly responsible for hurting innocent citizens are those who have caused Yuri to act in such a manner.

And if we keep searching for a root cause, when and where will the blaming game stop? Regardless of who stands to take the most blame, Yuri is still to blame for a part of it all.

It can be difficult to determine the source of the distortion, but if you do not search for the source and change it, then such acts will continue. Yuri cannot be blamed for an act he had no control of.

And he is not without blame through this all! Even if it was an external force that caused him to go mad like he did, one cannot simply discount the fact that it was his hands that were soiled with all those innocents' blood! Even if I wanted to absolve Yuri of all guilt, it is simply impossible. He may not have been the hand that wielded the tool, but he was a tool nonetheless and cannot simply walk away as if nothing had happened!
