Er, well, it's a little complicated. Right now I'm living in a manor of my own, in the royal capital, but I grew up as a servant in the house of the King's brother. Er, the king of a different country, that is.

It's... taken some getting used to.

Yuri is... he tries to do things on his own, and prefers to bear the burden. Sometimes, no- often times, with little to no thought for his well-being if it means saving the weak. We share the same ideals, and the same desire for equality within the Empire... but our methods are different. Does he sound like anyone you know?

I suppose that does sound complicated. But it's a private matter, so I will refrain from commenting. What I can safely gather though is that you're a noble, Sir Guy?

Haha, just Guy! And yeah, I guess I am. I'm still getting the hang of it, I think. My servants keep having to chase me out of my own kitchen, or scold me for trying to do the laundry, that sort of thing.

[Thinks a little] Maybe. He's not really a close friend, though that's... complicated too. He's really devoted to his country, and doing the right thing by everyone, but... he doesn't seem to believe that anyone else can help him. Or that they'd want to, maybe.

Maybe. I'm not really sure Asch gets along with anybody. Yuri'd have to be pretty stubborn, and not mind being yelled at. Asch... is still a kid, for all that he's had to grow up quickly.

I'm not really sure what "embrace it to the extreme" means, but I can guess. Terca Lumireis must have its share of petty, useless nobles to, huh? They're not all like that, but what I mean was that, I pay my servants for a reason, don't I? I should let them do their jobs, and not get in the way.

Yuri's pretty stubborn, and I think that if he got yelled at, it would just encourage him to become even more stubborn. My experience with Yuri and my attempts at lecturing him have told me that much. But that's probably my fault as well. I guess we'll never know how a meeting between them will go until they really meet.

The Empire has its fair share of petty, and useless nobles, yes. And not all of them are like that. I only meant that, it would be good to never forget the important fact that we are all just humans, and that being a member of nobility doesn't automatically mean being of higher importance. My apologies, if I talk about this matter, I am liable to bore you.

No, it's alright. I understand, and it's not something I'm going to forget. Like I said, I might have been born a noble, and I might be one now, but I spent at least 15 years of my life as a servant in someone else's house. People are people, no matter where you go, right?

Thank you, but I know that even my position would not be of much use if we were to have a dishonorable ruler in the Empire. Thankfully, the Empire is blessed with Master Ioder and Lady Estellise; they care for the people of the Empire, and those of Terca Lumireis that would choose to live by their own rules as well. It is my honor to serve them.

Before, only members of the nobility could become significant members of the knights, but thankfully the times have changed.

I consider myself blessed, nevertheless. If things had been any other way, I might not have had the chance to meet the people I know now.
