srslynotguy: (♣ ♣ confidence as a knight)

To my fellow Knights:

It looks like today is much the same as yesterday. If there is anyone present amongst you who count themselves a member of the Knights and hail from Terca Lumereis as well, then I would like to make a request: If it is at all possible, I wish to convey a message to my subordinates back home.

Sodia, Witcher; if the two of you are present, then I may as well deliver this message personally.

[ ooc; And before 4th wall ends, here is Guy Flynn Scifo. This guy (lolpun*shot*) will be okay with everything but, uh, spoilers beyond Zaude and gd. the fact that Sodia stabbed Yuri. Do not tell him, omg. ;_;... um. I think that about covers it. ]

It sounds like your friend and Yuri might get along if they ever met. I might even want to see that event.

I'm not sure what you mean by "getting a hang of it". But I hope it doesn't mean embracing your title to an extreme.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. I'm not really sure Asch gets along with anybody. Yuri'd have to be pretty stubborn, and not mind being yelled at. Asch... is still a kid, for all that he's had to grow up quickly.

I'm not really sure what "embrace it to the extreme" means, but I can guess. Terca Lumireis must have its share of petty, useless nobles to, huh? They're not all like that, but what I mean was that, I pay my servants for a reason, don't I? I should let them do their jobs, and not get in the way.

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yuri's pretty stubborn, and I think that if he got yelled at, it would just encourage him to become even more stubborn. My experience with Yuri and my attempts at lecturing him have told me that much. But that's probably my fault as well. I guess we'll never know how a meeting between them will go until they really meet.

The Empire has its fair share of petty, and useless nobles, yes. And not all of them are like that. I only meant that, it would be good to never forget the important fact that we are all just humans, and that being a member of nobility doesn't automatically mean being of higher importance. My apologies, if I talk about this matter, I am liable to bore you.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, well, if that's true, maybe it'd work out. Asch probably needs someone who wont leave him alone, just because he tells them to.

No, it's alright. I understand, and it's not something I'm going to forget. Like I said, I might have been born a noble, and I might be one now, but I spent at least 15 years of my life as a servant in someone else's house. People are people, no matter where you go, right?

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll remember that name, and if he finds his way here, I'll introduce him to Yuri.

Yes. That's right.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
So you never did tell me what it is that you do.

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, my apologies.

I'm Acting-Commandant of the Imperial Knights.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, nice. That's pretty lucky, I think, having somebody who cares about everyone like you do, in a position like that.

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, but I know that even my position would not be of much use if we were to have a dishonorable ruler in the Empire. Thankfully, the Empire is blessed with Master Ioder and Lady Estellise; they care for the people of the Empire, and those of Terca Lumireis that would choose to live by their own rules as well. It is my honor to serve them.

[ blah blah, justice tldr. blah blah. ]

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad. I know how that feels -- having a master you can be proud to serve.

That's the way it ought to be, isn't it? Having rulers who care about their subjects?

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-06 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes!

The rulers and the people in power should care about their subjects, protect the weak and underprivileged, and refrain from using their positions to punish and further extract injustices towards their people... for their own gain or satisfaction.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I can tell it's important to you, in any case. You... weren't always a noble, were you?

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not really a noble at the moment. I'm a Knight.

But to answer that properly; I grew up in the Lower Quarter with Yuri. We were orphans.

[identity profile] acivilservant.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's really terrible.

And sorry for assuming -- I guess I thought you'd have to be somebody pretty important, to be commandant. Though I guess "commandant" is important enough on it's own.

[identity profile] srslynotguy.livejournal.com 2009-11-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Before, only members of the nobility could become significant members of the knights, but thankfully the times have changed.

I consider myself blessed, nevertheless. If things had been any other way, I might not have had the chance to meet the people I know now.
