It's hard to believe it's only been a week after that day. Between the strange occurrences that plagued all of us through it all, it's easy to think that it might have been longer. It's hard to describe as well but everyone should know all that has happened.

[ Flynn, despite Yuri's response, made it to the fountain earlier... of course, this is because he's in a much better shape than Yuri. He spends the time waiting for Yuri gazing at the night sky, aware of how strange it is to see a different set of stars up there. And there was no Brave Vesperia, either, to look out for. ]

[He arrives, no sword and no swagger. He's frowning- he really doesn't have a single clue what he did this time.]

Hey.

[ And Flynn manages to smile at Yuri and that frown on his friend's face. ]

It's good to see you up and about again. Seeing you bed-ridden was a bit jarring... and maybe boring.

Not gonna lie, it was boring as hell.

[Puts his hand on his hip when he gets closer]

But you probably didn't call me over to tell me that.

You didn't enjoy being with Miss Ino plenty all this time?

[ He says that playfully-- but really, seeing as Ino is part of what he wants to talk about... that expression quickly turns serious as he sighs. He turns on his heel and motions with his head to follow him. ]

I have two things, Yuri. Pick; the first or the second one? I guess one is bad and the other is... not-so-bad.

She can't always be with me, you know. Though I can't say I minded when she was.

[Rolls his eyes as he begins to follow him]

Give me the bad one first.

[ That comment makes Flynn-- ...sigh. ]

Alright. It's been a week or so since you went back to normal. Leon and I spoke earlier of how many lashes would be fair, but we can't have an accurate number until I know how many you remember assaulting.

[ He stops here and looks at Yuri. ]

Is it okay for you to talk about that now?

[Serious face again and comes to a halt]

Yeah.

[He closes his eyes.]

I had a lot of time to think about it. I still don't remember all of the details...

I killed three. I tried killing six. And I messed with Ino's head.

Then that means you'll be getting the maximum number.

[ It's hard to say, of course, but he gets those words out anyway. 100 lashes and with Yuri barely recovered. He sizes Yuri up- some more time, maybe? A day, or two? Would that be enough. ]

[He knows what Flynn's doing...and he gives a reassuring smile]

Don't worry about me. This is punishment, remember?

I know... I know!

[ He shakes his head and steps closer. ]

But that doesn't make it any easier, Yuri. I know that you're here, back to your senses- but back then, I'd thought that-- [ sigh. He turns away and purposely avoids Yuri's gaze. ]

At a risk of repeating myself, I'll just say now that- walking different paths like this... Having to diverge too far from each other, and going too far a distance in our goals... I never wish to have to go against, or after you like this. I don't want to have to arrest and persecute you in the name of the Imperial Knights... but I know that if the situation called for it, I'd do it anyway.

[He walks closer to Flynn, resting a hand on his shoulder. So that's what this is all about.]

I don't like putting this burden on you. But we made a promise-

[He rests his head on his hand, effectively leaning on Flynn]

-and I'm no exception. You'll just have to trust me, Flynn, that I'll follow through with our promise from here on.

[His voice lowers]

Besides, what would everyone say if the Great Flynn Scifo set different standards for his best friend?

They'd say it's what most officers and nobles would do in the same situation-

[ He says that in a slightly playful tone but then sighs and bows his head a little. ]

-But it's not enough like that: letting myself follow their standards when I should be setting an example for my predecessors to follow instead for the Empire to become better... not grow stagnant.

[ Pause. Another sigh. ]

You better not be slacking off, Commandant.

[He laughed a little mirthlessly, still resting most of his weight on Flynn. Thanks bud! 8Db]

I guess it's unfair of me to expect you to do all of this. But it's necessary. The punishment must match the crime.

[ He sighs... but a bit more happily now, you slacker. ]

I'm just glad there are no real deaths here. I would hate to have to pass a death sentence on you, Yuri. I hope that when we return back to Terca Lumireis, you'll think hard about avoiding that.

Yeah, I don't really like the idea of getting the death sentence myself, to be honest.

So- you don't have to worry about me doing something like that. We don't have those core things, thankfully.

[ and then he thinks- ]

I'll keep better watch on Emil. As terrible as it may sound, if he turns again into that thing again then he might cause someone to do the same thing you did, Yuri, and that's not something any of us wish to see again.

I saw that. I'm glad to see they're getting along well but... that's an answer to another problem entirely, isn't it?

We need to find a way to completely ensure it never happens again. Somehow. [ and then sighs. ]

But by the way I sound, it's as if I want to lock him up and make sure he never comes into contact with any danger... somehow, this reminds me of Lady Estellise.
